We have an opportunity to name two new and significant #AcademicExcellence facilities after two revered and respected members of the Andrean community.
I invite you to personally recognise David’s and Lorraine’s decades of service.
The David Hodgson Exhibition Foyer
It was proposed that the new entrance to the Norton Block be named in honour of David Hodgson.
The foyer is a large and impressive space, leading into the newly renovated Cawse Library and Auditorium, and into the Norton Block beyond.
The foyer lends itself perfectly as a venue to exhibit art and for a variety of entertainment purposes.
A brand-new All Time Donor Board hangs in the Exhibition Foyer, in formal recognition of the multitude of benefactors since 1855.
It is envisaged that the David Hodgson Exhibition Foyer will become an iconic part of the College campus.
The Lorraine Mullins Centre for Creative Learning
The Centre for Creative Learning at Prep was completed and officially opened in 2016.
It is located on the previously vacant land below Top Field, in front of the old pottery and art rooms.
It has been designed to facilitate lessons in all subjects, and is a valuable practical teaching space for hands-on science practicals and collaborative project based learning tasks.
The naming of a creative academic space at Prep in Lorraine’s honour is most fitting.
These two facilities present an opportunity for everyone who has a special connection to David and Lorraine to personally recognise them for their significant contributions in so many areas at College and Prep.
In recognition of a pledge of R24 000 or more, your name will be added to the respective Benefactors’ Board to be placed in the David Hodgson Exhibition Foyer and the Lorraine Mullins Centre of Creative Learning.
Should you prefer to donate towards the #AcademicExcellence project in general, without allocating it specifically to one of the abovementioned facilities, you are most welcome to do so. A pledge of R24 000 or more to the general #AcademicExcellence project will secure a customised granite plaque which will be secured to the back of the stairs of a beautiful new amphitheatre which is to be constructed outside the renovated Norton Block as part of Phase 3 of the project.
No matter which one of these three options suits you best, donating to College and Prep has been made very easy through our secure online giving facility.
Three project options are available from which to choose:
Donations can be gifted once-off, or your pledge may be paid off over a maximum period of 96 months, allowing you the option of paying a minimum of only R250 a month.
Examples of other giving plans are listed below, or you can also specify your own customised plan via our secure online giving facility:
